Sometimes people don’t make an appointment with us for a check-up because they feel so uncomfortable visiting a dentist. They may have had an unfortunate dental experience in their past, one that still colours their attitude to dental visits.
If this applies to you, please remember – the technology we use in our Dentist Epping is a vast improvement from the technology used in the past. It is quieter, quicker, more efficient, and ergonomically designed for its purpose.
We are gentle caring people who are very aware that some people feel uncomfortable about visiting us. Our response is to put you at ease and be as gentle and caring as possible with you.
We have a number of dentists in our practice, so you can shop around amongst us to find the person you feel most comfortable with personally.
At Dentist Epping, we are very different from stereotypical, gung-ho dentists from the past. Apart from our modern attitudes, our clinic reaches the highest hygienic standards. We have techniques at our fingertips to minimize, or even eliminate pain, if you require treatment. We can put you into a completely pain-free twilight zone using what is called sleep dentistry if you desire.
However, it’s not only us – you can do things at home to help yourself too!
Apparently, roughly 50% of the Australian population don’t brush their teeth twice daily using a pea-sized piece of fluoride toothpaste. Some only brush once as they fear that brushing more often will damage their teeth – please don’t fear that as it is not true! In fact, brushing them more often is good for them! Twice daily brushing and daily flossing are the best for cleaning food particles and bacteria off your teeth and gums. Without those minute food particles and bacteria, your teeth have the best chance of remaining disease-free.
If brushing your teeth does hurt them, please come to us so we can find out why that is happening. Then we can fix the problem – and then you can brush your teeth correctly!
Sometimes people don’t brush their teeth twice a day because everything seems fine – there’s no pain in their mouth – so they don’t feel the need to. The problem with this approach is that most serious dental problems are not painful in their early stages and only become painful when they become big problems – and that, of course, requires more extensive treatment to resolve.
Your Dentist Epping implores you not to let that happen to you! Let us know about your fears so we can work around them – and your teeth can get the care they need.
