This new technology produces a far superior result to old-fashioned x-rays – it is far more accurate, detailed, and clear. In three dimensions, its images are far easier to read than the previous images in two dimensions. As 3D Dental Imaging uses a lower radiation dose, it is healthier for you too.
With these new images, we can see what is happening in your mouth and teeth, and jaw. We can observe the details of your bone structure and teeth orientation, and even evaluate the condition of your jaw, sinuses, nerve canals, and nasal cavity! We can see everything in relation to everything else, which is a great advantage over the piecemeal and 2D view offered by x-rays.
As a result, your dentist at our Dentist Epping can better prepare for whatever dental procedure you require, especially for complex ones like dental implants or the tooth extraction of impacted teeth.
A 3D Dental Imaging scan of your head, neck, and jaw only takes 14 seconds. It is completely painless and doesn’t require any preparation from you – you just wear your ordinary clothes.
For the scan, you will be standing or sitting. Our dentist will ensure that the area of interest is centred. You will have handles to hold onto or a chinrest or mouthpiece to help yourself stay still.
The results are available on our computer almost instantly, instead of having to be sent away. We analyze the results immediately. A few moments later, we use special software to show you ‘before’ and ‘after’ views of the proposed procedure so you can see the current issue and then visualize the end result.
